We identified Allendale as the only available gas on our way. Imagine our stress when we coasted into the Three Way Food Mart to get gas only to find they had no electricity and couldn't pump gas. Our low-gas warning light had been on for the last 20 miles. The next available gas station was 18 miles away- I knew we couldn't make it. The owner of the store volunteered to go to his house and get us a gallon of gas so we could make it to the next town. He wouldn't allow me to pay him for the small amount of gas he gave me. We were so thankful. Kudos to this wonderful gentleman.
